Fanny J. Crosby was a nineteenth-century mission worker, poet, lyricist, and composer who is known for having written nearly 9,000 hymns and gospel songs. She was a household name during her life, and an incredible 100 million copies of her music were printed! This song is Juliana Hall’s first sacred song, a setting of one of Crosby’s hymn texts, and it is suitable for either concert performance or for use in a religious service.
